Selling Our Old House - Handout

We decided to make a handout for those visiting our old house. A good idea.

We have lived in this home for the past 20 years and it is bitter sweet moving to a new home. We wanted to tell you about the improvements we have made to the house and what we have appreciated about the house.  
 
The Plaza Westport Neighborhood is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Kansas City and it is a vibrant and fun place to live. You can walk to the Plaza, Westport, and all of your medical appointments in just a few minutes. The neighbors are friendly and helpful, but not nosey. It is wonderful living on a quiet one-way street, yet being only blocks from two of Kansas City’s gems.  
 
We have made many improvements over the years: 

• New back deck – 2016 
• New hot water heater – 2016 
• SimpliSafe Alarm, no contract – 2016 

• Kitchen remodel– 2015 
• Google Fiber – 2014 
• Complete rewire and upgrade to 200 amp service – 2013 
• Rebuilt attic fan - 2013 
• Bathroom update – 2012 

• New central air - 2009 
• New furnace - 2007 
• New roof and gutters – 2006 (the roof has only 1 layer, 30-year roof) 
• New chimney caps – 2000 
• Update plumbing- 1999 

 
What we love about the house: 

• Location – walkability, bus lines, easy to get downtown and to highways 
• Stone – stays cool in summer and holds heat in the winter 
• Wonderful woodwork 

• Huge closets for a house built in 1907! 
• Plenty of storage – makes the house easy to live in. 
• Tall ceilings on the first floor 
• Large windows throughout 
• Large bathroom for a house built in 1907 

• Rooms are not boxy feeling 
• The basement is not scary and is serviceable ​
